The Morges Tulip Festival is a beautiful and well loved event that happens each year in Morges. The beloved festival features Lake Geneva with a breathtaking display of over 140,000 flowers, including 350 varieties of tulips. This year’s festival, themed “water,” creates a stunning floral spectacle against the lake’s picturesque backdrop.

The 2025 edition of the festival marks the 55th anniversary since it was founded in 1971 by the Vaud Horticultural Society (la Société Vaudoise d’Horticulture). It has become Switzerland’s largest flower festival, attracting nearly 300,000 visitors per year.

The Morges Tulip Festival is the perfect day trip for the springtime. The event is completely free, and there is a variety of programs throughout the festival that are worth checking out.

  • Guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays from 5 – 27 April (Price: CHF 15, 45 mins)
  • Pottery Market featuring the creations from 80 local ceramists 5 – 6 April
  • Children’s activities during the Easter period, including floral and origami workshops, treasures

Practical advice:

  • The tulips are beautiful anytime you visit but many recommend visiting during Mid April to early May to see the flowers in full bloom.
  • Weekends can get very crowded. Would recommend visiting on a weekday for a more leisurely
  • The event is a 10 minute walk from the Morges train station, so taking public transportation is highly recommended.
  • Morges itself is a very cute town and worth spending some time exploring the many castles, museums, and more.
