Mother’s Day is usually flowers and brunch… but this year, we decided to switch things up and book a mommy-and-me spa day at Hera Kids Spa in Geneva.
The second we walked in, Jessica welcomed us so warmly and got us both set up with the cutest robe and branded headband.
Then came the biggest decision of my daughter’s young life: choosing her crown 👑. The concentration. The seriousness. I’m telling you, she took this decision very seriously!
Did I mention there are welcome drinks? I’ll admit, I had a cheeky thought about wishing mine came with an extra kick 🍸—but hey, I’m a mom on a mission to stay somewhat composed! 😅
We started with a gentle facial that includes a bubble wash, mask, and moisturizer. Everything is super kid-friendly and gentle on sensitive skin (speaking as an eczema prone victim over here so I can vouch!)

Then it was time for her favorite part: a mani-pedi (requested “rainbow” nails) complete with a foot scrub massage.
We finished with gem stickers on her face while this mama got a full glam makeover because Jessica truly worked miracles making me look alive again (queue the sleepless nights since my 2nd newborn came).
What I really appreciated throughout this experience is that the spa doesn’t feel like it’s trying to turn little girls into mini Sephora addicts. The whole vibe is much more about bonding, playfulness, confidence, and creating sweet memories together.
There’s something really special about slowing down and having that one-on-one time together without distractions — even if your child does spend half the appointment personally managing the playlist 😮💨. But let’s be real, it was just as much for me as it was for her. Sometimes a mama just needs a peaceful moment away from Bluey and snack negotiations, and I’m not even a little bit sorry about it. 😗
