The World Cup only comes around every four years, and one of the best things about watching it in Geneva is experiencing it alongside people from all over the world. The FIFA World Cup 2026 will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

While Geneva won’t be hosting large official fan zones this year, the city has authorised cafés and restaurants to install outdoor screens throughout the tournament. Matches can be shown outdoors until midnight on weekdays and until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, making those late kick-offs a little easier to justify. To secure a spot, especially for those bigger matches, make sure to make a reservation ahead of time.

Whether you’re cheering for your home country, your adopted country, or simply the underdog (and yes, this PSG fan will be backing France ⭐️⭐️🇫🇷), these bars offer plenty of opportunities to celebrate, commiserate and argue about refereeing decisions together.

Fan Zones & Alternative Viewing Spots ⚽️📣

If packed pubs aren’t quite your thing, or you’re after a more family-friendly atmosphere, these fan zones and larger viewing venues are also screening World Cup matches throughout the tournament.

A little further from Geneva, but worth the train ride if you’re in the mood for a true fan zone experience.
